ABOUT THE ARTIST
Hullo there! I’m Jade, a Lincoln based illustrator and comic artist. I really like tea, dogs and old books.
I graduated from the University of Lincoln in 2011 with a first class honours degree in Illustration, and I started self-publishing my teastained comic series Cafe Suada shortly after that. My style is a fusion of British roots with Japanese influences, and combines digital and traditional techniques. In 2013 I was nominated for Best Emerging Talent in the British Comic Awards, and in 2014 I won the Myriad Editions First Graphic Novel competition with an extract from my graphic novel For the Love of God, Marie!, published July 2016.
I’m also a keen exhibitor, workshop leader and charicaturist and I can often be found at comic events such as Comic Con, Thoughtbubble, Comiket and others.
Thank you everyone who has been reading over on Inkblazers, you all helped me to qualify for payment this month so cheers! It really helps to support me making the comic :) If you haven't already, do check out Inkblazers, you get to read a whole month's worth of comics ahead of smackjeeves for free!
@rinalicat: Ahh I'm sad to hear about that experience but I am glad that tea calmed you like the comic suggests it can :) Personally I suffer from frequent panic attacks and tea goes a long way to calming my heart rate and soothing the panic U_U
@Tamatsuki: I'm choked ;-; This is such a sweet comment, I'm so glad the comic and characters make you feel this way. If I could, I'd march them all over there to hang out with you ;)
@EmmaVieceli: Ahhh thankye thankye thankye >u< I do try to play with my framing more, there were a few pages that felt a little uninspired but I'm glad this one has pulled it off! Also I'm trying to play with shadows more in the later pages, we'll see how it works out :)
I love this book. Whenever I'm sick it really helps me feel as if I'm being cured or something. I'd really like to meet everyone in the book. That'd be cool.>~<
Anyways, I can't wait to see what she does to make her feel better with the tea.
